Film Club

‘Cinema can fill the empty spaces of your life and your loneliness.’ – Pedro Almodovar

Lurgan College’s Film Club allows students with an interest in film to meet and collectively share the experience of watching great films. We are part of the central body INTO FILM and this allows us to access films from a catalogue of over 3000 titles. Students are involved in the selection of and curation of termly film programmes.

Beyond watching films, students meet to discuss their reactions and write reviews which can be published online on the INTO film website. We also have embarked on some film making projects in recent years and are always keen to find the next Steven Spielberg or Ava DuVernay.

We were delighted to have one of our members selected to join the Into Film Young Reporter Programme. This was a great achievement and the student travelled to London to develop their film reporting and reviewing skills. She also received media training and attended exclusive behind-the-scenes events and even got to meet and interview Sir Kenneth Branagh!

We are a group of like-minded individuals who love film. We welcome new members to this club throughout the year.
