BPW Public Speaking Competition

On Tuesday 21 November, we had two teams from Lurgan College competing in the local heat of the BPW Public Speaking Competition. Team 1 was made up of Lyla-Grace Thompson (as Chair), Alfie Speer (as Speaker) and Kody Watson (as Expresser of Thanks). Team 2 comprised Pedro Melo (as Chair), Megan Barbour (as Speaker) and Elena James (as Expresser of Thanks). Both teams competed admirably in this competition and whilst neither made it through to the next round of the competition they left with greater confidence and new skills developed in how to manage a public meeting. We wish Dromore High School and Portadown College all the best as they advance to the NI Final in February 2024. They were worthy winners on the night.
