A very warm welcome toLurgan College
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Lurgan College school website. I trust that this will help give you a flavour of the unique ethos and genuine family atmosphere which we all enjoy every day.
At the College we place a premium on the development of the 'whole person' and whilst there is a strong emphasis on academic achievement, this is supported by our renowned, child-centred system of pastoral care. Our pupils also have the opportunity to avail of an extensive range of extra-curricular activities which help equip them with the qualities, skills and values upon which they will rely in later life. As a school community we constantly look to build on existing outstanding practice, striving to meet the challenge set out by our school motto Meliora Sequor - to follow better things.
As our website can only provide you with a brief snapshot of school life, I would like to cordially invite you to visit us and experience for yourself our warm, caring and vibrant ethos, which has served our community so well for the last 150 years.

Meliora Sequor - To follow better things

- Lurgan College is a great school. I have been involved on lots of sports so far and this has really helped me settle in. The teachers care so much about the pupils as they take time to get to know us and they always encourage us to do our very best to reach our potential. The older pupils are also great as they look out for the new pupils to offer help and advice when needed. Michael -Year 11
- As a new Sixth Form student at Lurgan College, I have felt welcomed and supported by both staff and students, making the transition to a new school smooth and enjoyable. Staff made every effort to ensure I settled in and feel part of the school community. I quickly found that all pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential and pursue their interests. - The inspirational teachers at Lurgan College are part of the reason why I am currently completing a PGCE. As a pupil, I felt that Lurgan College had a welcoming family atmosphere, however, having worked as a student teacher in numerous schools, I now realise what a truly unique learning environment Lurgan College provides. It really is a very special place with incredible staff that provide support and encouragement you just don’t get anywhere else.
