Special Educational Needs

The school is committed to offering an inclusive curriculum which allows all our pupils to have access to an appropriate education and affords them the opportunity to achieve their full potential. The school works closely with a range of external agencies to focus on the identification of and provision for pupils with SEN. Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are drawn up for pupils in consultation with their subject teachers.  Each pupil’s progress in meeting the targets on the IEP is reviewed twice a year and the outcomes discussed with both the pupil and his/her parents. The parents of pupils with Statements of SEN are also invited to a formal review meeting once a year.

Parents of pupils with SEN who have any concerns about the progress of their child are welcome to contact the school’s SENCO, Ms Hughes, at any time.
